Government On Syria: Take Our Word For It, And Don't Ask Questions.

Dear Secretary Kerry,

This so called "Assessment on Syria" falls short in many aspects to deserve its name. While you explain why You, The Government feel comfortable with your views and forthcoming actions, it does very little to let We, The People have the same level of confidence. There are no transcripts of communications, only metadata. There is very little that is not already publicly known from the media. The following questions still remain open:
  • Why were the UN inspectors called redundant and urged to return home early without completing their mission?
  • Why is there such a rush to action?
  • Why is this information that is supposed to convince us, not being shared with Russia and China to further cooperation in the UN?
  • Why is it up to the United States to punish whoever committed these atrocities?
  • Who will be paying for this and how can we afford it, if at all?
Given that 1000 people die in Syria every week, why does it matter if they die from a bullet or from gas?
This glorified press release raises more questions than it gives answers. Four pages of "we assess x,y, and z" could have summed up in one sentence:
Take our word for it.
